Terms of use: Ingrained
Last updated 7 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Ingrained: Chess Tactics ("the app"), published by Brightfold ("we"). By using the app you accept them.
Using the app
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own training. Please don't copy, resell or reverse-engineer it, and don't use it to break the law. The app is intended for people aged 13 and over.
Pro: subscriptions and the lifetime purchase
- Subscriptions (monthly or annual) renew automatically at the price shown before you buy, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel them in your Google Play or App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Free trials, when offered, become a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
- Lifetime is a one-time purchase. It unlocks Pro on your account for as long as the app is offered.
- Payments, refunds and billing are handled by Google Play or the App Store under their own policies.
- Use Restore purchases in the app to get Pro back on a new device.
Coins, energy and hints
Coins, energy and hints exist only inside the app. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and may be changed or rebalanced as the app evolves.
Content
Puzzles come from the Lichess open database, which is in the public domain under CC0. The app's design, text and code belong to Brightfold.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is". We work to keep it accurate and available, but we can't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that abuse the app.
